Additional information

Projects subject to making of EIA report are listed in Appendix II to Decree 29/2011/ND-CP. EIA report must be appraised and approved by provincial people’s committee, except projects that are appraised and approved by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment as listed in Appendix III to Decree 29/2011/ND-CP. For other projects, the company shall have to make and register the written environment protection commitment to the district-level people’s Committee where the project is located.
A company being the owner of an investment project for which an environmental impact assessment (EIA) report must be formulated shall carry out itself, or hire a consultancy organization which satisfies all conditions stipulated in Article 8 of Decree 29/2011/ND-CP to carry out EIA and formulate an EIA report for the project.
We only describe here procedures related to making and requesting for EIA report approval at Hanoi People’s Committee.
